Two-Vehicle Wreck Leads To Charges

An early morning two-vehicle collision west of Wolf Point Sunday, July 17, led to one driver being cited with numerous charges, the second driver has not yet been positively identified, according to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper J.T. Oliver.

The accident occurred at around 3:45 a.m. near milemarker 589 on U.S. Highway 2. A westbound 2014 Dodge Durango, driven by Michael Aguilar, 30, of Wolf Point struck the rear left side of a westbound 2011 Hyundai Sonata, causing the Durango to roll an undetermined number of times, coming to rest on its wheels in the ditch. The Sonata went off the road, hit a delinator post and came to rest in a field.

According to Aguilar, the persons in the Sonata were harassing her and she was calling 911 at the time of the collision.

The driver and occupants of the Sonata fled the scene.

Aguilar was charged with no driver’s license, no insurance, no registration and reckless driving.

The incident remains under investigation.
