Survey, Events To Obtain Input For Economic Development

Great Northern Development Corporation wants to hear from community members as it embarks on a multi-month economic development planning process.

As a nonprofit organization based in Wolf Point, GNDC has served the counties of Valley, Daniels, Sheridan, Roosevelt, Garfield and McCone for the past 26 years as an Economic Development District and Certified Regional Development Corporation.

The information gathering from community members is a critical component of GNDC’s next fiveyear Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy. The overall goal is to develop a plan based on community input that will shape the economic well-being, resiliency and quality of life in Northeastern Montana.

“We want to hear community members’ thoughts on what they like most about living and working here as well as the greatest challenges facing their communities. We also want to hear what they want the future for this area to include,” Tori Matejovsky, executive director of Great Northern Development Corporation, said.

To capture as many opinions as possible, GNDC is offering several options for community members to share their thoughts including an online survey and “meet and greet” opportunities with GNDC staff at community events in July and early August.

The online survey can be found at GNDC-CEDS. All survey responses will be kept confidential. As a thank you to people who complete the survey, there is an option to be entered into a random drawing for one of four $50 gas cards.

“We look forward to obtaining input from as many community members, businesses, organizations, private and public entities throughout GNDC’s six county region as possible,” Matejovsky said.
