Dollar Store Might Come To Poplar

The Roosevelt County Commissioners approved the Atkinson subdivision, as long as recommendations are made, during a special meeting on Tuesday, April 26.

The property is located two miles east of Poplar.

Approval of the subdivision will allow for a proposed Family Dollar/ Dollar Tree store.

Commissioners don’t know of any timeframe for the construction of the proposed new store.

The project will include an approach on BIA Road 75. The approach is proposed to be 150 feet north of Highway 2.

Conditions of the commissioners’ approval include that the plat is compliance with subdivision regulations, provide proof of property taxes paid, being in compliance with uniformed standards and providing an approach permit.

According to the Family Dollar’s website, the combination of Family Dollar and Dollar Tree are bringing two great stores together. “Family Dollar, ready to meet your family’s needs, alongside Dollar Tree, with its thrilling offerings in seasonal, party, and crafting — to help you celebrate life’s occasions.”

Plans are for the Family Dollar store in Wolf Point to temporarily close and then reopen sometime in the middle of June. When it opens, the new Family Dollar/ Dollar Tree combination will occupy the entire area of the former Shopko location.
