Judge Strikes Down Travel Mask Mandate
U.S. Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., issued the following statement on Monday, April 18, after a federal judge struck down President Biden’s mask mandate for travelers.
“This is a big victory for Montanans and commonsense,” Daines said. “It’s past time we let families get back to normal and put an end to all of Biden’s unscientific, unconstitutional mandates for good.”
This ruling comes after the Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced they would extend the travel mask mandate until May 3.
Even though the TSA isn’t enforcing the mask mandates for travelers in airports, on planes, trains, or buses, the CDC is still recommending people wear masks.
Among the airlines who have announced that masks are now optional on their flights include Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Alaska Airlines, JetBlue, Spirit Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Allegiant Air, Hawaiian Airlines and Sun Country Airlines.
Amtrak will also no longer require face masks for passengers and employees on its
trains.
