Poplar High School Hosts Prom Poplar High School Hosts Prom

Poplar High School hosted their 2022 prom March 19 in Moccasin Square Garden. Students mixed without masks, entering the gym in pairs and small groups. Grand entry started a little after 8 p.m., following a delay resulting from the administration of breathalyzers.

Junior class advisor Evan Cummins said that the event was a dose of normalcy after the pandemic impacted access to public events on the Fort Peck Reservation.

“It went well,” said Cummins. “There were 119 participants. It was therapeutic for students who have missed out on similar experiences over that last few years. It had a sense of normality.”

Dennis Red Eagle was voted prom king and Kylie Gourneau was selected as queen.
