Cantrell Stays Involved In Wolf Point Cantrell Stays Involved In Wolf Point

Wolf Point High School senior Laykin Cantrell enjoys supporting her friends and classmates at the school.

She has played clarinet for the school’s pep band since the seventh grade.

“I love doing it,” Cantrell said of being part of pep band. “I like traveling with the team and being with other band nerds as well.”

Another activity that she likes is taking photos for the yearbook. Her favorite assignment is taking action photos of the girls’ basketball team.

“I enjoy taking photos,” Cantrell said. “I like when the girls look at the photos.”

She is also on the tennis team this spring. She also was on the squad as a freshman.

“I wanted to do something fun in my last year,” Cantrell said. “Hopefully, I make it to State this year.”

Her favorite class is yearbook where she helps with the publication and slideshow.

Her favorite teacher is Dan Horsmon.

“He’s easy going and understanding of students,” Cantrell said.

Her favorite hobby outside of school is looking at the stars. “I find the stars and space very interesting,” the honor roll student said.

After high school, she plans to attend the University of Montana. She will study physics and astronomy.

“My goal is to work at NASA some day,” she said.
