Malta’s Boys Earn Divisional Title

The Malta Mustangs knocked off Harlem, 83-67, in the title game of the Northern B divisional boys’ basketball tournament on Saturday, Feb. 26.

After the first half ended in a 35-35 deadlock, Malta struck for 22 points in the third quarter for a 57-45 advantage. Top scorers for Malta were Rex Williamson with 23, Treyton Wilke with 15, Conner Tuss with 15 and Stockman Oxarart with 13 points.

Leading Harlem were Tyler Cichosz with 19, Caleb Cole with 14 and RJ Ramone with 12 points.

Shelby also earned a state berth by beating Rocky Boy, 59-50, in the third-place game.

Shelby led 31-24 at the half. Rhett Reynolds accounted for 28 of Shelby’s points.

Joe Demontiney scored 17 points for Rocky Boy.

The Class B state tourney starts March 10 in Bozeman.
