Frank Donald Diserly, 46, of Poplar died on Feb. 2, 2022, in Billings at Billings Clinic.

He was born on April 10, 1975, to Arlie and Gloria (Fast Horse) Diserly in Williston, N.D. He was the youngest of six children and given the Indian name “Nunpa-Ichanka” (Born Twice) by his grandfather, George Fast Horse.

He grew up in Poplar and attended school there and in Brockton. He was a traditional dancer, placing at pow-wows. When he was six, he was asked to be a Poplar Indians mascot when they went to District B basketball tourney in Great Falls. He also loved to play basketball in middle and high school. Although he didn’t graduate, he received his GED in 1994.

After receiving his GED, he went right to work being employed with such companies as Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Buffalo Ranch, Animal Control and, for the past nine years, Fort Peck IRR.

He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, listening to music and getting on the Super Bowl boards for some instant money.

He is survived by three sons and a daughter, Ervin, Michael, Tyreik and Frankie Ann; father, Arlie Diserly; brothers, Marvin Fast Horse, Danie Diserly and Randy Birthmark; sisters, Diana Tuttle and Dina Diserly; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Melvine Birthmark; and brothers, Harol Diserly and Kevin Birthmark.

A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17, at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment will follow at Riverside Catholic Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with arrangements.
