Bill Aims To Help Rural Electric Co-ops Keep The Lights On

As part of his efforts to prevent significant financial losses for Montana electric co-ops and rural telecom providers due to the coronavirus pandemic, U.S. Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont.,introduced his bipartisan Flexibility for Rural America Act to give co-ops the option to refinance Rural Utilities Service debt at market rates, making it easier to deliver their critical services to rural America.

Lodging Revenues Decrease During 2020

The impacts of COVID on the state’s economy can be seen when looking at figures by the Montana Office of Tourism and Business Development regarding lodging facility use tax. Statewide collections of the bed tax for Montana during 2020 was $30,783,419, which was 13 percent below that of the previous year. Regions that suffered the biggest impact as far as percentages were Southeast Montana

Ardell Jeanine Nelson, 88, of Plentywood died March 28, 2021. She was born May 3, 1932, the middle child of Soren Sorensen Rungborg and Myrtle Marie (Andersen) Rungborg, in the old Sheridan Memorial Hospital in Plentywood. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Reserve Lutheran church. She spent her childhood years in Reserve and attended grade school at the Reserve School
