Lustre’s Boys Knock Off Turner Team

Lustre Christian’s boys’ basketball team exploded for 78 points and defeated Turner, 78-33, in its season-opening game in Glasgow on Friday, Dec. 3.

The Lions jumped out to an 18-7 lead in the first quarter and increased the margin to 45-15 at the half.

Top scorers for Lustre included Kolden Hoversland with 18, Jasiah Hambira with 14, Elijah Lenihan with 13 and Braden Ewing with 10.

Also scoring were Cayden Klatt with nine, Clay Reddig with six, Bryan Chen with three, Gabe Alves with three and Alex Chen with two.

Carson Maloney scored 16 points for the Tornadoes.

In the girls’ contest, Turner scored a 41-33 victory.

After Turner gained a 17-8 lead in the first quarter, the Lions closed the margin to 21-16 in the second period.

Turner scored 12 points in the third quarter for a 33-23 advantage.

Alexa Reddig accounted for 22 of Lustre’s points. Also scoring were Grace Brown with seven and Aubri Holzrichter with four.

Top scorers for Turner were Dakota Krass and Cassidy Grabofsky with 14 points each.
