The Lady Wolves struggled and lost to top-seeded Glasgow in straight sets at the District 2B volleyball tournament in Wolf Point on Friday, Oct. 29.

Glasgow took the match by a 25-14, 25-11, 25-19, final.

Wolf Point started out in strong fashion as kills by Jaylee Azure and Sierra Hamilton led the way to a 5-1 advantage.

A kill by J’Elle Garfield and a block by Adeia Erickson produced a 10-4 lead. After Glasgow tallied the next five points, a kill by Erickson put the Wolves up 11-10.

The Scotties, however, earned an 18-13 advantage until Hamilton accounted for another kill. The net play of Carly Nelson, Abrianna Nielsen and Klaire Krumwiede led Glasgow to the 25-14 win.

Glasgow gained a 14-7 lead in the second set until Wolf Point fought back to 14-10 on Sarah Williamson’s service. The Scotties, however, pulled away for a 25-11 victory.

In the third set, blocks by Tatum Nyquist helped Glasgow take an 18-7 lead. The hard hitting of Hamilton pulled the Wolves to 19-12. An ace by Garfield made the score 19-13.

The Wolves got as close as 22-17 on an ace by Kylie Rodenberg and a tip by Azure. Glasgow ended the match with two kills by Nielsen and an ace by Daley Aune.

Rodenberg finished with 18 assists and two aces. Hamilton and Erickson each had a block.

Hamilton scored 21 kills. MacDonald accounted for seven digs.
