She enjoyed many years of working student registration at the U of M, also helping out at the Bette J Shop and the Collector’s Showcase.
The family enjoyed many years of camping, fishing and traveling. One favorite spot was the cabin on Lake Mary Ronan. Shirley loved her Montana Grizzlies, both the men’s and women’s teams, playing cards, dancing and relaxing with a book about Montana history. She treasured her many good friends, including her card group and “Friday Lunch Bunch,” both lasting over 35 years. Her love of animals was felt by all who knew her. She was a long time member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Missoula, Zion Lutheran Church in Glendive and an associate member of the American Lutheran Church in Sun City, Ariz.
In 2005, Shirley became a “snowbird”, when she purchased homes in Sun City, Ariz., and Glendive, Mont., leaving a large portion of her heart with her many special friends in Missoula. She appreciated the many beautiful friends she made in Glendive.

Her ashes will be placed with Ken’s. Those wishing to make a memorial: she wishes it to be made to the Humane Society of Western Montana, PO Box 1059, Missoula, MT 59806 or, better yet, she asks that you promise yourself to PRACTICE RANDOM KINDNESS AND SENSELESS ACTS OF BEAUTY EVERY DAY. Love ya and God bless.
