Culbertson Considers Science Olympiad Event
The Culbertson School board agreed to the idea of conducting an alternative to the Montana Science Olympiad competition.
Because the Montana Science Olympiad was moved to April 15, it now falls around Culbertson’s spring break. Instructor Paula Schledewitz proposed an alternative of having a local competition instead of participating in the state event. Trustees agreed and will take formal action at the October board meeting. The local competition is tentatively scheduled for November. The school district hasn’t received any applications for a maintenance position. The school district will continue advertising.
Kitchen staff has been consisting of three people working and some days have been a challenge to complete all tasks. Students volunteering has been a help. Superintendent Larry Crowder will propose options at next month’s meeting.
Lance Bengochea and Chelsie Flinn were hired as guest teachers.
Terrance Johnson has been hired as the junior high boys’ basketball assistant coach. No applications has been received for head golf coach.
A home school parent made an appeal to allow students to participate in school activities. The family does not reside in the Culbertson school district. Crowder will seek legal opinions.
Concerns were heard regarding the condition of the C-C field and football uniforms.
