Tribes Increase COVID Restrictions

The Fort Peck tribal health board met on Wednesday, Sept. 8, and decided to increase restrictions because of the increased of COVID cases.

Changes to the plan include that tribal casinos must limit their capacity to 50 percent and can operate only between the hours of 8 a.m. and midnight, tribal community halls are open only for funerals and wakes with a limit of 50 attendees and masks are required of all individuals over the age of 5 in all public spaces regardless of their vaccination status.

Officials report that as of Sept. 8, there were 26 active COVID cases among the enrolled population. The Roosevelt County Health Department reported 28 active cases within the general population on Sept. 7.
