Biden’s Nominee Pulled Following Pressure From Senator Daines

Following pressure from U.S. Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., it has been announced that President Biden will pull his nominee to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, David Chipman. Daines has been adamantly opposed to Chipman’s nomination since it was announced.

“I’ve been opposed to David Chipman leading the ATF from the start. He’s an anti-Second Amendment, gun-grabbing radical that should not lead the agency that regulates firearms,” Daines said. “I’m glad to see President Biden listen to my request and pull this nomination. I’ll always fight to protect Montanans’ Second Amendment rights.”

In June, Daines took to the U.S. Senate floor to urge his colleagues to join him in opposition to the nomination and to defend Montanans’ Second Amendment rights.
