Culbertson Edges Scobey

The Culbertson Cowgirls battled back to nip Scobey in five sets during home volleyball action on Thursday, Sept. 2. Culbertson won by a 22-25, 18-25, 25-20, 25-16, 15-12, final.

“I’m proud of the girls and the way they worked together as a team to finish,” Culbertson Coach Tiffany Nielsen said. “Scobey came out with a game plan that took us out of our element for a bit. The girls made some adjustments and came out swinging at the start of the third. I am extremely proud of their grit.”

Makena Hauge led the Cowgirls with an outstanding match as the junior accounted for 25 kills, three blocks and 28 digs.

Destiny Thompson finished with 20 kills and two blocks.

Koree Marchwick had 25 set assists and served nine aces.

Kenadee Kempton added 18 assists.
