Commissioners Make Employee Changes

Jenna Presser has been hired as the new IT coordinator for Roosevelt County. She replaces Cole Hanks, who is now working for the Wolf Point School District.

It was noted that Presser has two years of computer science education and is a good fit for the county.

Shelley Arndt was promoted to deputy county treasurer. Commissioners approved a pay raise for treasurer employee Carly Tattoo.

Commissioners accepted the resignation of detention center employee Tyler Sterling.

Commissioners to advertise for Request for Qualifications regarding the county roads’ right of way project. The bids will be opened at noon on Tuesday, Oct. 5.

Commissioner Gordon Oelkers explained that about 75 percent of the roads in the county don’t have proper right of ways.

“The biggest issue is when people want to borrow money on land and they don’t have a legal right of way,” Oelkers said. “It keeps getting worse because the title companies and lending institutions are really looking at access for land.”

Commissioners said that about $100,000 will be put in the budget for the project.
