Commissioners Approve Stage 1 Resolution
The Roosevelt County commissioners approved a resolution for stage 1 fire restrictions during their meeting on Tuesday, July 27. The commissioners approved going to stage 1 on July 20, but a resolution also needed to be provided.
The main difference between a fire ban and stage 1 restrictions is that smoking is restricted except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable materials.
New hires approved were Ebert Miranda for the road department, Sharla Bushman for clerk and recorder and Amy Black for dispatch.
Cindy Welch resigned from the aging department. Treasurer employee Brittany Deavila was moved from part time to full time.
Commissioners said they recently purchased 10,000 tons of gravel from Century for $79,900 or about $8 a ton.
