An improvement at Wolf Point High School will include a new parking lot north of the school. Construction on the project started on June 7.

Century Companies and Interstate Engineering are in charge of the project. Work is expected to be done in the early part of August.

The total project cost is $1,034,143, but a Delivering Local Assistance grant from the Montana Department of Commerce covers $750,000 for the cost.

School officials note that the public should avoid this area until construction is complete. All deliveries and access to the building will be through the south or west doors.

The project will include removal of the existing asphalt, removal of some of the concrete, putting in a new storm drainage system, redoing the sidewalk and having a handicapped ramp. There will be stripes for about 70-90 spaces.

Other improvements will include heated sidewalks to get rid of snow/ice along with a picnic area. The gravel parking lot near the football/track field will be re-graded as well.
