Wolf Point anglers Kris Keller and Whit Rush started out with a commanding lead on day one of the Rock Creek Walleye Tournament and never looked back. They caught 38.38 pounds of walleye on day one and another 25.4 pounds on day two for a total of 63.78 pounds.

The second-place team of Travis Scott and Kennie Williams from Harlowtown and Lewistown was approximately 25 pounds behind with 38.8 pounds. Third-place honors went to Wayne Wilcox of Laurel and Cody Strom of Richey who were just behind at 38.22 pounds.

Jordan Dasinger, formerly of Wolf Point and now from Glendive, and Jesse Reuter from Sidney captured the Cool Under Pressure Award with a zero the first day and a 30.24 pound catch on day two. This also garnered them seventh place overall.

The mixed couple award was won by JR Rasmusan and his daughter Tyana Synan from Glasgow, who also finished in ninth place overall.

The adult/child competition was won by Zeik Gordan of Belgrade and Owen Wilcox of Laurel who finished 11th place overall.

One hundred nine two-person teams from mostly Montana but also from North and South Dakota and Wyoming competed in this year’s event.

Mother Nature cut the second day of tournament down to six hours because of high winds and big waves.
