Otto Kaschube

A memorial service for Otto Daniel Kachube will be held on Monday, May 31, 2021, at 10 a.m. at the Faith Free Lutheran Church 12 miles north of Brockton, Mont., at the 12mile marker. A luncheon will be served and masks are not required.

Otto Daniel Kaschube, 86, passed away at the Roosevelt Memorial Nursing Home, Culbertson, Mont., on Oct. 3, 2020, after contracting the Coronavirus.

Otto was born May 10, 1934, near Culbertson, Mont. He is the youngest son of Edward and Elizabeth (Luft) Kaschube and was the ninth of nine children. He was baptized and confirmed at the Brockton Zion Lutheran Church, where he married his lifetime love and partner, Teddy Kao. He attended school in the north Brockton area at Biem School then stayed on to manage the family farm as his lifetime vocation.

Otto enjoyed music, playing guitar and accordion with his brothers and with fellow church members all his life. He was a devoted Christian man and faithful member of Faith Free Lutheran Church.

He was a hard worker, putting in long hours six days a week with the farm work, planting, harvesting, and caring for the cattle and other farm animals, but making the seventh day devoted to his church and prayer. He was a devoted family man raising five children with his wife, Teddy.

Otto is survived by his faithful longtime wife, Teddy Kao Kaschube; sons, Barry, Bruce and Mike Kaschube; daughters, Laura and Letha; and one sister, Christine Dick, 104, who lives in Greeley, Colo. Also, he had nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Elizabeth Kaschube; sisters, Erna Kaschube Brown, Bertha Damm Swallow, Dorothy Damm Schwartz and Molly Damm Lauridsen, plus Minna Martha who passed as a baby; and three brothers, David Damm, Harold Kaschube and Alfred Kaschube.
