The Wolf Point School board unanimously approved the rehiring of school administrators during a special meeting on Tuesday, April 27.

Recommendation by acting superintendent Jim Baldwin and approved were Georgie Gourneau as Northside principal, Greg Gourneau as junior high principal, Kim Hanks as high school principal and Sarah Chambers as director of curriculum and instructional leadership.

Also having their contracts renewed were Cheri’ Nygard as business manager and Greg Moniz as district technology administrator.

Two non-tenured teachers were recommendation for non-renewal without cause. After going into executive session for about a half-hour, a motion to not renew Angela Swenson failed on a 2-2 vote with Linda Hansen and Lanette Clark voting in favor and Mark Zilkoski and Craig Rodenberg voting again. Trustees approved the recommendation to not renew the contract of Richard Ryan without cause.

Trustees voted to terminate probationary employee Demarko Shoots-Lilley without cause.

Trustees adopted a resolution to sell a 2007 Dodge Caravan, with more than 127,000, because the property has become abandoned, obsolete, undesirable or unsuitable for the school’s purposes.

On a lighter note, Zilkoski joked, “Which is why this is my last year on the school board, I’m obsolete.”

Summer school hires included Laura Dennis, Laura Hansen, Jane Sorley, Rona Stevens, Doriane Talks Different, Rhena Tumonong, Brandi Burshia, Emily Hamilton, Kristie Chamberlain, Angela Swenson, Amanda Campbell, Douglas Evans, Leslie Larson and Jeff McMorris.
