Athletes Place At Junior High Track Meet


Wolf Point hosted 18 schools for a junior high school track meet on Friday, April 9.
The Wolves scored nine points in the girls’ seventh- grade division, nine points in the girls’ eighthgrade girls division and one point in the boys’ eighthgrade division. Wolf Point’s Kolby Burshia placed sixth for eighth-grade boys with a best of 31-7 in the shot put.
Leading Wolf Point’s girls was Ali Corpron with a mark of 64-02 in the discus for third place in eighth grade. Marley MacDonald placed fourth with a best of 56-11 in the discus and 26-3 for fourth in the shot put for seventh grade.
Brenna Blount finished fifth in the eighth-grade 800. Gabrielle Four Bear placed sixth in the eighth-grade 400.
The girls’ 400-meter relay team consisting of Lauren Rodenberg, Karmyn Plain Feather, Navella Weeks and Kashlyn Speak Thunder finished sixth. Frontier took ninth for seventh- grade girls, eighth for seventh-grade boys and 15th for eighth-grade boys.
Jeff Deserly of Frontier placed first with a mark of 68-10 in the discus for seventh- grade boys. He placed second in the shot put with a best of 31-01.
Frontier’s seventh-grade 1600-meter relay team featuring Riley Benton, Baylee Hays, Kaylee Hays and Elliauna Ryan finished second. Frontier’s boys’ eighth-grade team finished third in the 1600-meter relay.
Baylee Hays placed second at 26-07 and Kaylee Hays took third at 26-04 in the shot put.
Damian Deserly placed sixth in the 200 for eighthgrade girls. Poplar took 12th for seventh- grade girls, 10th for eighth-grade girls, 11th for seventh-grade boys and 12th for eighth-grade boys. Kaniel Ricker earned first in the 100-meter hurdles for eighthgrade boys with a time of 18.70. Ivan Iron Cloud took fourth in the 100-meter hurdles for eighth-grade boys. Wilder Bear Cub of Poplar finished fourth in the 1600 for seventh-grade boys. William Breland finished second in the 200-meter hurdles and sixth in the 100-meter hurdles for seventh-grade boys.
Keilan Erickson placed fifth in the discus for seventh- grade boys. Kacie Colgan finished first in the 200-meter hurdles for seventh-grade girls with a time of 39.8 seconds. Precious Keiser placed fourth in the 200-meter hurdles.
Bailey Dupree took fourth and Rebecca Gorder placed sixth in the 100-meter hurdles for eighth-grade girls. Mattie Ayers finished fifth in the 1600 for eighth-grade girls. Kacie Colgan took sixth in the 1600 for seventh-grade girls.
Lustre took 10th for seventh- grade boys and 15th for eighth-grade girls.
Diek Olfert of Lustre took second in the 800 (2:45.33) and third in the 1600 (6:17.20) for the seventh-grade boys. He cleared 4-2 for fifth place in the high jump.
Abby Olfert took fifth in the 200-meter hurdles and sixth in the 1600-meter run for eighth-grade girls.
