Wolf Point Golf Team Opens Schedule April 16-17

Wolf Point’s golf program features eight boys this season including two upperclassmen.
Abel Garfield, a junior, has the most experience with the program. The other upperclassman is senior Josh Bushman.
“It will be an interesting year after all the COVID stuff last year,” Wolf Point coach Rodney Paulson said. “Losing last year kind of hurt us.”
Also expected to be strong players for the Wolves are Logan Bushman, Kobe Manning and Jesse Fettig.
The coach said having a very young team will help build the program in the long run.
“It’s really good,” Paulson said as far as time to improve. “Especially after losing a whole year, the guys who haven’t been exposed to golf will get to work on their game.”
As far as team goals, Paulson said, “Just for the guys to improve.” He added that a goal will be set as far as the Wolves’ team score.
The top five golfers will compete at the divisional meet.
In order to qualify for the state meet, a team must place in the top four or an individual must place in the top 15.
The Wolves will open their season with the Poplar Invitational on Friday, April 16. Wolf Point will host its invitational on Saturday, April 17.
The divisional meet is scheduled in Shelby on May 11. The Class B state meet will be held in Billings on May 18.
