Northeast Montana Health Services Receives Award Northeast Montana Health Services Receives Award

Northeast Montana Health Services, Wolf Point, has received recognition from the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, EMS for Children.

The award is for Northeast Montana Health Services being recognized as a Level II “Master/ Platinum.”

“This recognition is awarded to EMS services in Montana that have implemented policies and procedures within their service to ensure that they are prepared in the event of EMS response to pediatric emergencies. The fact that less that approximately 10 percent of our annual calls at NEMHS are comprised of pediatric cases, we wanted to become pediatric ready is to ensure that we are prepared to the fullest extent to provide high quality care to these patients”, said James Wilson, EMT site supervisor, Wolf Point. “The recognition level that we have been awarded is level 3/Platinum level which means that we must adhere to strict guidelines. To maintain our certification, we must perform periodic pediatric focused community outreach and education, continuing staff education on pediatric based topics, and ensure that our agency has appropriate equipment available when responding to these calls,” Wilson added.
