Julie Unger, 55, of Boyd died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at home.

She was born Jan. 17, 1965, in Billings to Ron and Lorraine (Crawford) Krook. She attended Boyd school until sixth grade before transferring to Joliet Public School where she graduated in 1983.

On Oct. 3, 1987, she married Bryce Unger of Wolf Point. In 1995, they bought their forever home in Boyd. She and Bryce had four children and Julie gained two step-children. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. Her children were her greatest accomplishment.

She was a pillar of the Joliet community and could always be found where events were taking place. She had an immense love for volunteering, organizing and giving a helping hand to all. She is best known for her heart, big enough for everyone that came across her path and open arms ready to embrace all in need with the warmest hug. It was her mission to better everyone around her.

She was involved in every aspect of her children’s lives and dedicated herself to her community. From FFA, 4-H, to every sports team, her support was felt. She was a Joliet super-fan and was always found in her green and white vest. Her loudest support was felt and heard in the Joliet stands while cheering on her children. She loved to love on people and her life was a living example of this.

She is survived by her husband, Bryce Unger of Boyd; two sons, Jordan Unger and Nicholas Unger, both of Billings; two daughters, Madison Gunderson of Glasgow and Shalee Welch of Billings; two step-children, Amanda Shamburger of Tucson, Ariz., and Cody; three brothers, Jeff Krook, Kevin Krook and Kraig Krook; two sisters, Kelly Songstad and Jolene Hill Krook; and one grandson.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Donna.

Memorial services were held Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Joliet football field. Cremation has taken place.
