Lady Wolves Put Up Good Fight In Baker

Wolf Point’s girls put together a strong comeback but fell short in Baker, 55-50, on Friday, Jan. 8.

The Wolves trailed by 20 points in the third quarter but battled back to get as close as four points in the final period.

“I’m very proud of how the girls fought back,” Wolf Point Coach Jon Kolstad said. “They never gave up. We were getting called for a lot of fouls. We played a good game.”

Wolf Point’s J’Elle Garfield put together an outstanding fourth quarter and finished with 19 points.

Josie Kolstad added eight points. Also scoring were Hamyanie Campbell with seven, Katelyn MacDonald with seven, Jaylee Azure with five and Hailey Nelson with three.

Baker hit 18 of its 36 freethrow attempts including 15 of 21 in the first half.

The Wolves were 10 for 18 from the foul stripe.
