Hazel Longee


Hazel Evaline Longee, 78, of Poplar died Dec. 12, 2020.
She was born April 1, 1942, to William H. Taft Longee and Elsie Long Longee north of Poplar car bridge.
She was baptized at the Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church in 1943 with godparents Isabelle Jones and Charles Jones Jr. She was the fifth child of nine children, Wilma Jane Longee-Feather, Alfred Carrol Longee, Mary Rose Kollman, Charles Pete Longee, Merle Edward Longee, Mildred Fern “Midge” Longee, Verlynn Faye Longee and Allyn Dee Longee.
She raised some children during her life, Eugene “Tubby” Longee, Robert “Pigman” Longee, Clifford James Plain Bull, Sonia Jones, Angela Marie Longee, Rubin Lee Longee and Terrell Lee Jones.
Through her life, she did housekeeping and worked hard on her education. She got her G.E.D and completed her business administration degree.
In 1998, she moved to Omaha, Neb., and worked at Grey Hound. She was always going to Bingo with her family and friends. She loved to drive around, listen to her music and go to pow-wows and often visited her family and friends. She loved to tell stories and to be with her family and sisters.
She was a sweet, loving, caring and kindhearted woman. She was always willing to help others out who were in need.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Clifford Blain Bull; great-grandson, Reye Crus Jr.; sister, Wilma Longee; and brothers, Alfred, Charles, Merle and Allyn Longee.
She is survived by her children, Gordon Plain Bull Jr., Llewellyn A. Plain Bull, Charlene R. Nepal, Rebecca A. Cloud, William H. Plain Bull and Delphine Rae Plain Bull; adopted sons, Kenny Ayers and Cody Eagleman; adopted daughter, Sharon Yellow Owl; adopted sisters, Georgia A., and Catherine Spotted Bird; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Mary Rose Kollman of Williston, N.D., Midge Longee of Poplar and Verlynn Longee of Williston, N.D.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Her funeral was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23, at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar. Interment was at Poplar City Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
