Sandra Lee Lilley, “Blue Buffalo Woman,” 68, of Wolf Point died Nov. 16, 2020, at St. Vincent’s Healthcare in Billings.

She was born March 18, 1952, in Poplar to Rose Miller Lilley and Joe Lilley Sr. She grew up in Wolf Point, attending grade school until she went to Pierre Indian School in South Dakota, where she graduated from eighth grade. She then went to Flandreau Indian School, graduating high school in 1970. After high school, she attended Haskell Indian Junior College in Lawrence, Kansas, for a short time before returning to Wolf Point.

She worked various jobs throughout her life. She worked as a dental assistant with IHS, tribal food program delivering meals to the elderly, nurse’s aid and her last job of 38 years with BIA Irrigation Department as an accounting tech.

She loved the Lord and was a lifelong member of the United Dakota Presbyterian Church. She was a member and a treasurer of the Wadopana pow-wow committee, always doing what she could to make sure the powwow had a good turn out each year.

She loved being with her grandchildren and family, having dinner and coffee with her brothers and sisters and watching her granddaughter play basketball and volleyball. She enjoyed going to bingo, playing machines, traveling to visit family and friends and t Taking cruises with her love, Raymond, as she called him.

She was a good person to all. She had a big heart, always helping those in need. She enjoyed a good laugh with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by the handsome man in her life for 47 years, Ray “Raymond” Redstone.

She is survived by her daughters, Willow and Brooke Lilley; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Julie Christian, Lois Black, Terri Adams, Elaine Barrera amd Stacey Lilley-Foster of Wolf Point; and brothers, Steven Lilley, Perry Lilley of Wolf Point and Chickey Lilley of Ronan.

Her funeral was held Saturday, Nov. 21, at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Interment was at Oswego Presbyterian Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
