August “Jug” Spotted Wolf, 62, died Oct. 18, 2020, in Wolf Point.

He was born Sept. 13, 1958, in Poplar to Sterling G. Spotted Wolf and Vera B. Roberts- Spotted Wolf-Standing Bear-Ironman. He also considered Yvonne V. Smoker- Broaddus as his mother who helped raise him and Charles J. Gopher and Edward G. Broaddus as his father.

He was involved in basketball and cross country during high school. He was in basketball and cross country 1974-1977, was basketball conference champ 1975-1976, state cross country champ 3rd place in 1976 and was inducted in Hall of Fame for Cross Country in 1997.

He enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in basketball and cross country, track, drama, choir, band and plays. He attended any events his grandchildren were in, sometimes it was only him.

He worked at A & S Industries until his death.

He is survived by his children, Cobra J. Spotted Wolf, Miracle P. Spotted Wolf and Charles J. Spotted Wolf; brothers, Ivan D. Roberts, his twin Austin “Moose” Spotted Wolf and Johnathon “Jonny” Gopher; sisters, Linda Dean, Agnes L. Spotted Wolf, Ona L. Gopher, Mandy Smoker Broaddus, Anna Spotted Wolf and Lucinda M. Standing Bear; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lloyd M. Spotted Wolf and Clarence G. Spotted Wolf.

His funeral service was held Thursday, Oct. 22, at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at Poplar City Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point was entrusted with the arrangements.
