Letters To The Editor

Dear Editor:

Want your water turned off, Wolf Point used to turn water off at the curb stop, small fee to turn it back on, our neighboring towns still do that.

Wolf Point now wants to use the corporation valve to turn water off, which is in the street, cost to turn off approximately $1,500, to turn on an extra $1,000 city plus approximately $1,500 to redig the waterhole that is for the water line. Because the 8 foot hole in the street, plus black top is owner cost, about 40-80 times higher than our neighboring towns. What an attitude.

Wolf Point is not the most desirable place to live, now with the attitude, wow. I am 70 years old, work almost seven days a week all my life, own four properties, paid $4,993 in taxes in 2019. Wolf Point uses my money for their operation, pay their wages, now fine me $140 a month because I do not need or want water at two places. $70 a month per unit for zero water usage with curb stop on off position.

If you live on the Fort Peck Reservation, the water supply is free, Wolf Point is included in that program, water is pumped and pre-treated.

The concept of hard work and investment, not a bad idea. My mistake was to do in Wolf Point. Boy, what a mistake I did.

With Wolf Point City’s new attitude, living in Wolf Point is now more undesirable. With people not wanting to live here, our property will be of less value, why would people live here? Everyday, garbage, weeds, same pot holes to drive around. People that used to live here say “What has happened to Wolf Point.” Special thanks to Chris Dschaak, Marlene Lahlum and Ward Smith.
