Changes Made To 97th Annual Wild Horse Stampede

Amid community fears of the COVID-19 virus spreading, this year’s Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede Weekend will look much different than in years past.

The following events have been canceled entirely – the carnival, Main Street parades and street dances. The KVCK Country Showdown, Art in the Park and the Human Stampede have all been canceled as well. The annual Wolf Point Museum pancake breakfast and Cowboy Church had previously been canceled.

The Tough Enough To Wear Pink Golf Tournament on Thursday, July 9, and the children’s stick horse rodeo on Saturday afternoon, July 11, will still be held as scheduled.

The Catholic hamburger stand will only be open on Saturday, July 11, and will serve to-go burgers only. No on-site seating will be available this year.

The Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede PRCA Rodeo is set for 7 p.m. each night at Marvin Brookman Stadium Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 9, 10 and 11. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. each evening.

New this year at the rodeo will be a Stampede Calcutta featuring one event that will begin at 6 p.m. each evening in the Wild Horse Saloon on the east side of the arena.

Organizers note that all who attend the Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede do so at their own choosing. Personal wellbeing is your responsibility. Do not attend if you are susceptible to illness or showing symptoms of infectious disease. Hand sanitizing stations will be in place throughout the venue. Face mask usage is of personal choice, and all should adhere to current social distancing practices.
