Poplar Wild West Days Set For June 13-14

Rodeo Scheduled To Start An Hour Earlier

The 2020 Poplar Wild West Days Rodeo is officially on. Dates will be Saturday and Sunday, June 13-14. It will be held at the Poplar Saddle Club grounds north of Poplar.

Start time will be a little earlier than usual. According to the event poster, the rodeo will begin at 1 p.m. Wild horse races will include six teams per day. Admission is $10 per person, kids twelve and under will be $5 per day.

According to Cherry O’Connor Colgan, the burger stand will not be open this year due to concerns about COVID-19, but Whoa Nellie Deli will be serving burgers with fried onions, hot dogs, soda and snacks.

Slack will be held June 13 after the performance. There will also be bareback bronc riding, bull riding, calf riding, cowgirl’s barrel racing, cowgirl’s breakaway roping, junior barrel racing, junior breakaway, senior men’s breakaway roping, and team roping sanctions.

Grace period will expire one hour after entries close. Performances must fill to have slack.
