Culbertson School Board Holds Special Meeting

The Culbertson School board unanimously approved a school closure plan of action during a special meeting on Thursday night, March 26. The move came after Gov. Steve Bullock extended his order to close Montana's schools through April 10 due to the coronavirus.

“It's pretty vague at this point and that's what they requested,” Culbertson School board chair Paul Finnicum said about the closure plan of action. “As we move forward, it will get a little more detailed.”

Trustees noted that the plan is supposed to be vague so adjustments can be made easily.

“We will really rely on Larry [Crowder] and the staff to put in the details,” Finnicum said of the school district's superintendent, “but this is the start of that.”

Trustee Luke Anderson made the motion to approve the school closure plan. The motion was seconded by trustee Eric Bergum and approved.

The board might meet every two weeks or so to continue updating the plan.
