67th Annual National Hard Spring Wheat Show Set For February 13

The 67th annual National Hard Spring Wheat Show will be held this year at the Williston Area Recreation Center on Feb. 13.

This year’s program will feature topics of interest to local wheat producers, including an update on NDSU wheat breeding, small grain disease, agronomy updates, pigweed, specifically Palmer Amaranth and Waterhemp identification and management and soil pH. Market and weather outlooks for the upcoming season will also be discussed.

The show will start at 7:45 am CST, and American State Bank will be hosting an ag appreciation breakfast prior to the show, from 7 to 7:30 a.m. CST.

Following the show, starting at 4:30 p.m. CST, there will be a social hour followed by an awards dinner with featured speakers Jay and Jerry Doan of Black Leg Ranch. They will be speaking about their experiences with diversifying the ranch, regenerating soil health and how this has contributed to improving their bottom line.

The planning committee would like to thank our major sponsors, who have made this year’s show possible: City of Williston Economic Development, KEYZ AM 660 News Radio, Gooseneck Implements, North Dakota Wheat Commission, Central Life Sciences, MWEC and Birdsall Grain & Seed LLC.

The program has been approved for private and commercial applicator points by the Montana Department of Agriculture. For more information you can visit our Facebook page or you can contact Jeffrey Chilson at 787-5312 or via email at Jeffrey.chilson@montana.edu.
