November 8 Is Election Day - September Named National Voter Registration Month

November 8 Is Election Day

Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen joins election officials across the country in announcing September as National Voter Registration Month. “Today, I join state and local election officials in encouraging Montanans to celebrate National Voter Registration Month by registering to vote or confirming their current voter registration information is up to date,” said Secretary Jacobsen. “All eligible Montanans can register to vote by contacting their local election office or visiting the Vote Ready page on the Secretary of State’s website.”

Members of the National Association of Secretaries of State established September as National Voter Registration Month in 2002 to encourage voter participation and increase awareness about the requirements and deadlines for voting.

Tuesday, Sept. 20, has been declared as National Voter Registration Day.

Montanans can learn more about registering to vote and confirming their voter registration status online at https://sosmt.gov/voteready. The Secretary of State’s Office and local election officials are the trusted sources for election information in Montana.
