Bainville Squads Fall Against Plentywood

 

The Bainville Bulldogs lost both District 2C basketball contests against Plentywood on Friday, Feb. 2.

In the girls’ contest, Plentywood fought off the Bulldogs by a 41-33 final.

The Bulldogs gained a 13-8 lead in the first quarter. The game was deadlocked at 16-16 at the half.

Plentywood moved ahead 26-21 in the third quarter.

Hailey Berwick scored 10 points for the Bulldogs. Also scoring were Miah Pippenger with eight, Elsie Wilson with seven, Tally Berwick with five and Brecklyn Pippenger with three points.

Leading the Wildcats was Mallory Tommerup with 16.

Plentywood’s boys earned a 70-45 victory.

The Wildcats took a 23-10 lead in the first quarter and increased the gap to 33-17 in the second quarter.

Plentywood struck for 21 points in the third quarter for a 54-27 advantage.

Top scorers for the Bulldogs were Alex Strickland with 15 and Chuck Butikofer with 10 points.

Also scoring for Bainville were Sam Butikofer with nine, Reese Harmon with five, Cayden Boyd with four and Isaiah Bjorge with two.

Leading Plentywood was Noah Murray with 18.
