Speech, Drama Enjoys Excellent Turnout

Wolf Point’s new speech and drama coach Jacob Boysun is excited about a turnout of about 20 students for the program this year.

“It’s the biggest speech and drama team in Wolf Point since the 1990s,” Boysun said.

Leading the group is Del Eymard who won the state championship with 2022 graduate Daniel Sears for humorous theater duo last winter. Eymard will compete in dramatic oral interpretation this year.

“It’s not comedy anymore, it’s serious,” Boysun noted.

Ryan Schumacher and Chase Adams also return on the team this season. Each of them will participate in humorous oral interpretation.

Ryver Summers is back for the Wolves and will compete in informative speaking.

“There’s quite a few freshmen and a couple of sophomores,” Boysun said of the turnout. “It’s going to be a good season.”

It’s a pretty even mix between students in speech and in drama. In addition, Wolf Point will feature three debaters.

Boysun is looking forward to the Wolves placing as a team instead of just in the individual standings.

The Wolves will open their season at Glasgow on Saturday, Oct. 29.

The Class B-C state meet is scheduled at Manhattan High School on Jan. 27-28, 2023.
