Lawrence Irwin retired from the Montana Highway Patrol on May 31, after 31 and a half years of service to the Patrol.<br \/>\n\t  His initial station assignment  was Wolf Point. He was promoted to sergeant on Jan. 29, 2000, and was the Wolf Point detachment commander.<br \/>\n\t  In April of 2002, he transferred  to Helena to work on the executive protection detail.
