He joined brother Kurt, mother Elna (Erickson) and father Kermit on the family farm. When he was six years old, the family moved just east of Antelope where Ron would live most of his life.<br \/>\n\t  He graduated from Antelope  High School in 1956. He attended Montana State University &#8211; Bozeman where he received his BS degree in construction technology. He used this degree with the Montana Department of Transportation in the engineering  field. He joined the U.S. Army in the fall of 1958. He was stationed in Korea where his son Dennis and grandson Curtis would later serve.<br \/>\n\t  While in Culbertson, he met and married Ann Oelkers.  They were a fun loving  couple. From dancing to darts to their children\u2019s ballgames to playing cards, there was always something to do. He left his position in Culbertson with the highway department in the spring of 1973 and moved the family to Antelope so he could farm.<br \/>\n\t  In 1977, he and two others would start their own company  called Prairie Sand &amp;  Gravel. He would farm and help run this company for almost 10 years. He was very proud of his John Deere shop where he restored his Ford Model T.<br \/>\n\t  He was involved in many community organizations. He was a volunteer fireman, assistant Boy Scout leader, member of the church council  both in Culbertson and Antelope, school board member,  Shriners, president of the local highway union and also a union negotiator. He also served on the Antelope Water  &amp;  Sewer board and the Antelope Creek Cemetery board.<br \/>\n\t  He is survived by daughters,  Cindy Burton of Antelope  and Ginger Volker of Stevensville; seven grandchildren;  and 11 great-grandchildren.<br \/>\n\t  He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; son, Dennis; daughter, Barbie; and brother, Kurt.<br \/>\n\t  Services were conducted at the Plentywood Lutheran Church in Plentywood.
