She was baptized in Poplar in the Catholic church. She attended school in Poplar, graduating in 1979. After graduating, she went to Haskell Indian Nations University  in Lawrence, Kansas.<br \/>\n\t  She returned home, met Marvin Failing and they married  on Nov. 28, 1988. Their son, Chad Failing, was born on Jan. 20, 1989.
