Clerk Jasper Resigns Position With Town

During the Culbertson Town Council’s regular meeting Monday, Dec. 13, clerk Tiffani Jasper submitted her resignation. She has accepted a position with the USDA Farm Services Agency office in Culbertson. She will be a program technician.

“I feel sad leaving Amber,” Jasper told the Community News, “but I’m excited otherwise.”

Jasper has been serving as clerk since 2018. She’ll be with the town for several weeks at least to assist with the transition and she will be present at the January meeting.

“I’ll be around to help train my replacement,” Jasper said.

No applicants had been reviewed at press time. There is a job posting inside this publication.

During new business, a site plan was approved for Kara Halvorson, who is remodeling a commercial space.

The Wheatland Hills subdivision streetlights billing situation was discussed. Paul Finnicum is currently paying a disproportionate amount for a handful of addresses. Attorney Laura Christoffersen said the town may want to look at the creation of a new lighting district or possibly several districts to address the issue. Talks are ongoing.

Improvements to the alarm system at the lift station were discussed. New radios and antennae are needed to fix the alarm system to monitor water and temperature levels. Talks are ongoing.

Organizers with Ike’s Fishing Pond and Walking Trail said they may be seeking a Montana Department of Transportation grant to fund ongoing improvements.

The next regular meeting is set for Jan 9 at 6:30 p.m.
