Ruff Announces Resignation As Frazer’s Superintendent

Frazer Superintendent of Schools Sarah Ruff informed the school board on Monday, Jan. 12, that she will leave the post effective on June 30, 2026.

Ruff said she has enjoyed the Frazer school and community. In her letter to trustees, Ruff said the decision came “with deep respect for the district and community.”

Ruff wrote, “It has been an honor to serve as superintendent of Frazer Schools, and I am proud of the progress achieved during my tenure. Together, we successfully brought Frazer Schools into full accreditation compliance, strengthened systems of accountability and established clear operational and instructional expectations across the district. Through the development and implementation of a comprehensive organizational change model, the district is now positioned to meet OPI growth metrics while maintaining a strong focus on improving student learning outcomes.”

Ruff said she and the business manager kept the school district financially sound and compliant while aggressively pursuing external funding. “To date, the district has been awarded over $800,000 in grant funding, with additional awards pending, expanding opportunities for students and strengthening long-term fiscal stability.”

Ruff continued, “Throughout my service, I have worked to uphold the core responsibilities of the superintendency: strengthening governance practices, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements, supporting staff and leadership, fostering transparent communication, and maintaining safe, effective learning environments. These efforts reflect a shared commitment to continuous improvement and student success. I am sincerely grateful to the Frazer community for the opportunity to serve and for the trust placed in me to lead this district. It has been a privilege to work alongside dedicated educators, staff, and trustees, and most importantly, to serve Frazer’s most valuable asset; it’s children.”

Ruff said that current principal Shiloh Seymour will become the school district’s new superintendent pending final negotiations with school board members. Seymour’s background includes administrative experience in Harlem and Box Elder.

“I’m really excited about the next few months of the transition this year,” Ruff said. “We’ve worked well together to make some great strides.”
