Tanglen Resigns From Humanities Montana

The Humanities Montana board of directors has announced the resignation of executive director Randi Lynn Tanglen, effective Dec. 31.

Tanglen has served in the position since June 1, 2020.

Originally from Sidney, Tanglen has accepted a post as vice provost for faculty affairs at the University of North Dakota.

Humanities Montana board members issued a press release Nov. 4 thanking her for her service throughout the pandemic and wishing her well in her new endeavor.

“I’m proud of what Humanities Montana has accomplished in the past 2 ½ years,” Tanglen told the Northern Plains Independent. “When I interviewed for the UND job, I told them that being from Sidney, I was already ‘practically’ from North Dakota.”

Over the next months, the board of directors will be conducting a search to find the next Humanities Montana executive director. Kim Anderson, retired Humanities Montana director of programs and grants, will serve as interim executive director.
